BOPE-Tropa de elite
I just saw de movie and I’m shocked! If that’s real, I don’t know, I don’t know how they work – the BOPE – I was never in one Favela and I was never in Rio de Janeiro.
I was already a little bit concern when Thomas told me that the name of the film in English is “Streets of Brazil” because I don’t believe is like that in Brazil. People should be more careful when they speak about Brazil because this is a big country and is very difficult to talk about Brazil in general.
Back to the film, I know the reality in Rio is almost like in BOPE – Tropa de elite, drug dealers, people with guns, innocent people dying every day and it’s just not there, its everywhere but after watching this film I’m not sure who is worse: the corrupt police guys, the drug dealers or this BOPE.
I thing it will be very nice to stop all the corruption in Brazil but not with torture! People here suffered with the militaries in the government from 1964 till 1985. I was an amateur actress 10 years ago and we did a play about this time and two scenes were about torture and lots of people had to leave the theater because these scenes reminded them torture suffered from the militaries or about friends whom never showed up anymore.
Now, are we going back to that? Is this the only solution to stop drug, bandits and all this bad things? And if it is what is going to happened here? A civil war???
I was thinking to take this film with me and show to people in Germany, know I have changed my mind, I can’t show this, it’s too much, Brazil is not just this or I believe so! Even so I cannot sleep today, Thomas just when to Rio and I just pray to Good to let him safe there and that he gets home safe.
All I know is that if these turns to Rio Grande do Sul I just want to take my family and friends and go far away from here. Good bless all those who doesn’t have to live something like this every day.
Final comment: about scenes and actors, I have to say: CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think I couldn’t do it!
